you should take in, and the process of, buying a home:
- Interview a real estate sales representative
Your representative should be someone who...
- listens to you - you, as a buyer need an agent who understands
your needs and desires ... and will help you achieve your home ownership goals
- explains the buying process and the forms you will see
throughout that process
- has time to spend with you
- you can believe in
- Get pre-approved by a mortgage lender - have a written mortgage lender
approval
I will be pleased to refer you to a number of mortgage lenders if you
do not already have one
- Discuss these issues with your representative/agent...
- Your pre-approval
- The various forms you will encounter - ask to see them
- Have your representative explain buyer agency
- Understanding closing costs
- Your needs and wants
- Begin looking for your new home
- Put in an offer to purchase
It is very important to read your offer and understand what you are
signing - ask questions!
- A home inspection gives you peace of mind when buying a home. It helps
reduce surprises
- Arrange utility hook-ups, movers, appointment with lawyer etc.
